First of all, we want to express how grateful we are for questions like this. It’s incredibly rare and powerful that we’ve found ourselves a part of such an engaged and informed community that holds passion and an elevated standard for issues like ethical responsibility, that are so important to us.
As a Certified B Corporation, CAUSEBOX is held to the highest standards of business ethics, sustainability, and transparency, so our partners and the products provided are carefully and thoughtfully chosen. This certification doesn’t just evaluate a product or service, but also assesses the overall positive impact of the company that stands behind it.
Each of our partners is selected for being a change-maker in the world — whether that means creating a sustainably made product to reduce the need for single-use plastics, giving back to organizations fighting for causes that they believe in, or employing artisans in vulnerable communities for many times above the minimum wage, allowing families to stay together.
Products are brought to us by different artisan groups, small businesses, or growing brands from all corners of the world — including right here in the United States, as well as in China. Each partner is sourced on the basis of their alignment with our ethical standards, regardless of where their products are made. We are happy to report that the makers of the Whitney Kerney Mugs have certified to policies and procedures observing key labor and manufacturing standards to match this commitment.
Transparency is incredibly important to us, and connecting our members to the makers behind their products is one of our primary goals. For that reason, we include a Good News Magazine inside each CAUSEBOX to share their stories, so you’re able to learn more about our partners, their processes, and the causes you’re supporting with your membership.
While we’re so proud of the work that we’ve done so far and the impact that we’re already making, we believe in progress and know that there is so much more we can do when it comes to impact and transparency. Internally, we’re working on some very exciting improvements — and we can’t wait to share them with you!
